204V Fan Blue / Vintage Indigo and Black

The New Balance 204V is a bold proposition: taking the 204, one of the most beloved low-profile silhouettes in the NB catalog since its launch in 2025, and removing its laces. In their place, a single strap crosses the top of the foot in a Mary Jane construction that gives the sneaker a hybrid feel—somewhere between a technical runner, a dress shoe, and a summer slip-on. The inspiration draws from two sources: 1970s running shoes for the proportions and sleek profile, and alpine climbing shoes for the technical details and upper construction.

The premium suede and mesh upper combines embossed overlays and screen-printed graphics on the saddle for a textured and graphic upper. The lightweight EVA midsole ensures everyday comfort; the outsole features a pattern inspired by 2000s tread marks and 1970s mountain soles. A molded "N" logo and arched overlay lines complete the look.

In the Fan Blue / Vintage Indigo / Black colorway, the Fan Electric blue of the mesh base contrasts with the black suede overlays and darker Vintage Indigo blue accents—the most assertive and summery version of the launch.
